Friday was the 2k Steeple Chase at Great Southwest. There were five guys racing it from Utah. It was Nate Hanson, Talon Rodriguez, Joe Buck, Carson Wilkins and myself. I was seeded tenth. Timo had us do a lap and then hurdle drills but I've never hurdled the steeples so I didn't do too much practice there. I warmed up with Talon doing 1.5 miles then I drained my legs, checked in and did a couple strides. The race started and some kid from Illinios took it out in first followed by Fenner from Colorado and myself and Carson. After the first lap the Illinios kid had died and it was Fenner in the lead followed by me. It stayed this way until about one and a quarter laps left when Nate and Joe passed me. With about 110 to go Carson also got ahead of me but I outkicked him right at the end to finish fourth. It was a good race and I set a new school record of 6:32. 2 mile cool down after.
